This blog is officially closed down, but don’t be too sad, I’ve got a whole host of new posts and exciting new things waiting for you at
Hey everyone, how are you all today? Hope you’re enjoying the rainy bank holiday weekend weather! It wouldn’t be the same if it wasn’t a wash out would it?!
Even though its raining, its still technically summer, so short-shorts are still a must have!
As many of you know, I’m currently studying towards a degree in Public Relations, for this I arranged some work experience over the summer in a local communications department.
Today I thought I’d give you a little low down on the experiences I’ve had.
Hey everyone, today’s post is just a little picture piece really on the Tramlines Festival in Sheffield last weekend.
For those of you who don’t know of it, its basically a free festival dotted throughout the city with all different types of music, entertainment, food and stalls on offer. This year it started on Friday 20th July and ran until Sunday 22nd July.
Today I’m being a bit of a ‘whistle-blower’ on myself, and guiding you all through the true series of events it takes for me to get ready for one night out.
You’ve all seen it only takes me ten minutes to put on the everyday face, but the weekend face takes much, much longer.
Some of you, such as my flatmates and the special man in my life, will not be surprised at what follows … however, some of you may be somewhat shocked at the amount of time that goes into getting ready for one little, usually rubbish night out.
Afternoon all, after hours of painful editing, exporting and uploading I have my first proper video blog for you all!
I know the summer weather has been somewhat short lived, but hopefully this video will inspire you for its return.
As promised, the low down on last weeks ‘Thread Bare’ fashion show held in aid of Barnardos. Just a little post with pictures and a video at the end for you all.
The event was held at Soyo Bar in Sheffield and had a really exclusive vibe. Being there felt as though you were rubbing shoulders with the fashion elite of Sheffield, and not the usual ‘Sheffield scenesters’.
The stalls set up around the venue offered everything from vintage jewellery and clothing to cupcakes and of course there was the obligatory charity raffle stand, which I must say won an above average prize from; Charlie Simpson tickets for the 02 here in Sheffield, I’m going to be reliving my youth with a Busted t-shirt on for that one!
Don’t worry, I’ll make it up to you, with three posts by Monday evening and I promise not to do it again!
So, first in my blog-shaped apology is of course the subject of London Fashion Week.
Being a fashion and beauty blogger I couldn’t let the event pass without a little blog marking the occasion. Over the course of the 6 day event there will be a total of 59 catwalk shows and 24 presentations.
The exhibition is called Alien Body and includes ‘deformed’ mannequins and various, striking fashion pieces. All designed to push the boundaries of how we see women and challenge stereotypes.
Hello all, I’m Melissa, I’m 22 & I’m currently residing in Sheffield, UK. I currently attend Sheffield Hallam University and I’m studying Public Relations and Media. Its always been an area that’s interested me and after a few years of working for the NHS in a job that, although I enjoyed, I knew wasn’t for me, I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and pursue my dreams!
