Tramlines Festival 20th – 22nd July

For those of you who don’t know of it, its basically a free festival dotted throughout the city with all different types of music, entertainment, food and stalls on offer. This year it started on Friday 20th July and ran until Sunday 22nd July.

Exposé; The True Weekend Beauty Timeline

Today I’m being a bit of a ‘whistle-blower’ on myself, and guiding you all through the true series of events it takes for me to get ready for one night out.

You’ve all seen it only takes me ten minutes to put on the everyday face, but the weekend face takes much, much longer.

Thread Bare Fashion Show

As promised, the low down on last weeks ‘Thread Bare’ fashion show held in aid of Barnardos. Just a little post with pictures and a video at the end for you all.

The event was held at Soyo Bar in Sheffield and had a really exclusive vibe. Being there felt as though you were rubbing shoulders with the fashion elite of Sheffield, and not the usual ‘Sheffield scenesters’.

The stalls set up around the venue offered everything from vintage jewellery and clothing to cupcakes and of course there was the obligatory charity raffle stand, which I must say won an above average prize from; Charlie Simpson tickets for the 02 here in Sheffield, I’m going to be reliving my youth with a Busted t-shirt on for that one!

Alien Body

As promised I’m blogging about a boundary pushing fashion exhibition I visited at Sheffield Hallam University this week.

The exhibition is called Alien Body and includes ‘deformed’ mannequins and various, striking fashion pieces. All designed to push the boundaries of how we see women and challenge stereotypes.
